US Tanks and Infantry Fighting Vehicles Arrive in Greece, Strengthening NATO’s Presence in Europe

American Abrams tanks and Bradley infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) have been delivered to the port of Alexandroupolis in northeastern Greece. This was reported by the Greek portal gnomionline.gr.

It is reported that the equipment was delivered as part of the US efforts to increase NATO’s capabilities in Europe. It will be handed over to the combat group of the 3rd Armored Brigade of the 4th Infantry Division of NATO, along with light armored support vehicles JLTV.

It is reported that over 3,000 units of weapons and heavy transport vehicles have already been unloaded at the port of Alexandroupolis, which were transported by road and rail to Eastern Europe bypassing the Dardanelles Strait.

Previously, it was reported that Romania would build the largest NATO military base in Europe, accommodating 10,000 servicemen. The construction of the military facility is estimated at €2.5 billion. The 2,800-hectare base will be located in the vicinity of Constanta, near the Romanian port on the Black Sea.

Earlier, it was reported that Europe lacks €56 billion for NATO defense.
