Russian Su-34 fighter jets have destroyed a command post of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF), according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The strikes were carried out using FAB-500 M-62 aviation bombs with universal planning and correction modules (UPCM), which make these munitions guided and highly accurate. One such bomb contains 300 kilograms of explosive material in TNT equivalent, and the Su-34 can carry up to four of these munitions.
The aforementioned modules help to strike from a safe distance from the line of contact, noted the Ministry of Defense.
The Su-34 crews received confirmation of the successful destruction of targets from reconnaissance and returned to the departure airfield, concluded the Ministry of Defense.
Prior to this, the defense department reported that a Russian assault battalion, named after Hero of Russia Viktor Omelkov from the Ivanovo unit of the Russian Armed Forces, successfully attacked a UAF stronghold northwest of Artemivsk.
Earlier, the Russian Armed Forces destroyed a UAF convoy near Avdiivka.
