Cannabis Shop Targeted by Explosive Attack, Owner Offers $10k Reward for Arrest

Tacoma Police in Washington state are currently investigating a disturbing incident involving an “improvised explosive device” that was discovered outside Craft Cannabis on Friday. The suspect responsible for this heinous act can be clearly seen on video dropping off the homemade device and subsequently throwing a Molotov cocktail at the shop, as shared by Tacoma Police with Fox 13.

The owner of Craft Cannabis, James Bean, is now seeking assistance from the public in identifying the individual captured on camera during this shocking incident that occurred on March 15. Bean expressed his concern, stating, “I think this could have been a very different story had the person been successful.” It is truly alarming to witness such brazen acts of violence and destruction.

Bean, who also owns three other cannabis shops in Wenatchee and Vancouver, opened the Tacoma store two years ago. However, he revealed that the location has been subjected to targeted attacks since February. It all began with the theft of his 35% off signs, which escalated to receiving threatening phone calls. Unfortunately, matters took an even more serious turn on Friday when an attempt was made to set one of his buildings on fire.

Surveillance video captured the moment an individual dropped off the device and proceeded to throw a Molotov cocktail at the store. It is truly fortunate that the assailant had poor aim, as Bean noted, “It’s a good thing he had bad aim.” Tacoma Police promptly responded to the scene and safely disposed of the device.

Tragically, Craft Cannabis was targeted once again on Sunday morning, with a portion of its sign sustaining partial damage due to burning. The incident occurred around 6:00 a.m when an officer drove by the shop to investigate reports of a fire. Two individuals were seen fleeing from the scene, but no arrests were made and no injuries were reported. Authorities are urging anyone with information about these attacks to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.

According to Tacoma Police, these incidents are believed to be connected to other related acts of violence. Investigators will be conducting further inquiries to determine the motive behind these attacks. Police have also revealed that the owner believes these acts of aggression are in retaliation for offering their products at lower prices than their competitors. In an effort to bring the culprits to justice, Bean is offering a substantial $10,000 cash reward for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction.

It is truly disheartening to witness such acts of violence and destruction targeted towards legitimate businesses. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of maintaining law and order in our society. The safety and security of businesses and individuals should never be compromised, and it is crucial that those responsible for such criminal acts are held accountable for their actions.
