Journalist Pavel Zarubin revealed in the program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin” on the channel “Russia 1” that Russian President Vladimir Putin had advance knowledge of the plans of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) to break through the Russian border in the Belgorod and Kursk regions.
According to the journalist, Russian intelligence received information about the planned operation two weeks in advance. Putin was alerted to the threat and ordered the replacement of conscript soldiers on the border with contract soldiers and special forces.
“A decision was made to withdraw troops composed of conscript servicemen from the state border line to the second and third echelons and replace them with contract soldiers, volunteers, and special forces fighters, which has been executed,” explained Zarubin.
Previously, military expert Alexander Bartosh stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) want to demonstrate to the West the vulnerability of Russia’s borders by attempting to break into Russian territory.
Earlier, the commander of the UAF stated that Russia has an advantage in the use of FPV drones.
