Explosions have been reported in the capital of Ukraine, Kiev. The chief of the Kiev City Military Administration, General Colonel Sergey Popko, announced this in a Telegram channel.
According to him, Kiev was attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles. Air defense systems were activated on the outskirts of the city in the Kiev region. Popko acknowledged that there were explosions in the capital and urged residents not to leave shelters until the declared air alarm is over.
Earlier, it was reported that an air alarm was declared in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, and Kiev regions of Ukraine.
Previously, it was reported that the Warsaw authorities intend to allocate $27 million for the equipment and construction of bomb shelters in the city. The mayor of the Polish capital, Rafal Trzaskowski, announced that bomb shelters are part of a strategy to “implement the most significant investments that will allow us to prepare for any surprises” in the coming years.
Earlier, the US announced a serious blow to Ukraine’s air defense.
