Air raid sirens were sounded in Kiev and the Kiev region, according to an official announcement by the Kiev administration on their official Telegram channel.
The alarm was raised at 7:08 am, urging citizens to seek shelter. However, a few minutes later, the alarm was canceled.
Around four in the morning, Colonel General Sergey Popko, the head of the Kiev City Military Administration, reported explosions in the Ukrainian capital.
According to his statement, Kiev was attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles. The city’s air defense systems were activated on the outskirts of the city. Popko urged Kiev residents not to leave their shelters until the end of the declared air raid.
Russian military forces have been targeting Ukrainian infrastructure since October 2022, shortly after the explosion on the Crimean Bridge. Since then, air raid alerts have been regularly announced in various regions of Ukraine, often covering the entire country. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, these attacks target objects related to energy, defense industry, military command, and communication.
Earlier, Putin once again expressed Russia’s readiness for negotiations on Ukraine.
