Russian electronic warfare (EW) systems jammed the satellite signal of a British Air Force plane carrying the country’s Defense Secretary Grant Shapps and a group of journalists from Poland back to the United Kingdom. This incident was reported by the British newspaper The Times.
According to the publication, the GPS signal was blocked for 30 minutes when the British Air Force Dassault 900LX business jet was flying near the Kaliningrad region over the Baltic Sea. The pilots had to use alternative methods to determine the aircraft’s location, the newspaper reports.
Prior to this, the Polish publication Epoznan reported that on January 17, Russian military forces jammed the GPS signal on half of Poland’s territory and the Suwalki Corridor.
