NATO and Canada to Invest $470 Billion in Defense by 2024, Raising Concerns over Rising Military Expenditures

“NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has announced that NATO European countries and Canada will invest $470 billion in defense in 2024. His words were reported by TASS.

According to him, the North Atlantic Alliance continues to increase its military spending.

“European NATO countries and Canada will invest $470 billion in defense in 2024, which will amount to 2% of their combined GDP,” Stoltenberg noted.

On March 11, during a press conference, Stoltenberg stated that the capitulation of Kyiv will not bring peace, and negotiations are needed to “preserve Ukraine as a sovereign and independent nation.” He was responding to a comment made by Pope Francis about the possibility of Ukraine’s surrender in the conflict with Russia. The head of the Roman Catholic Church called on Kyiv and Moscow to start negotiations and also emphasized the need for the losing side to gather courage and raise the “white flag.”

Earlier, the Kremlin commented on Stoltenberg’s remarks about the possible surrender of Ukraine.”
