Ukrainian Forces Attack Belgorod: 6 Injured, 1 Dead, and Multiple Buildings Damaged

Six people were injured as a result of the shelling of Belgorod by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU): four women and two men. Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov provided details in his Telegram channel.

He reported that three injured individuals are currently being treated at City Hospital No. 2 in Belgorod. One woman suffered a shrapnel wound to her shoulder blade, another woman sustained a closed fracture of her arm, and a man has shrapnel wounds to his lower back. All the victims are receiving necessary medical assistance.

Gladkov added that a man behind the wheel of a car was killed as a result of the shelling. A Ukrainian shell hit the car’s engine directly.

The governor clarified that the shelling caused damage to 11 residential buildings, two apartments, as well as a hotel, fitness center, and medical institution. Fifty-three cars were also affected.

Earlier that morning, on March 14, eight rocket projectiles were destroyed over the Belgorod region. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, air targets were shot down over the region at 8:30 a.m. Moscow time. Thus, Russian military forces intercepted an attempt by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to carry out a terrorist attack.

Shortly before this, a rocket danger regime was declared in Belgorod and the Belgorod district, as announced by Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov. He urged local residents to stay at home and not approach windows, if possible.

Previously, the Russian National Guard shot down UAVs belonging to the AFU on approach to the Belgorod Thermal Power Plant.
