Russian Troops Advance in Special Military Operation Zone on the Northern Front, Says President Putin
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced during a meeting with winners of the “Leaders of Russia” management competition that Russian troops are advancing in the special military operation zone on the northern front. The head of state’s words were reported by Interfax.
“Yes, there is movement there. However, the enemy has fortified that particular area, the northern front,” Putin said.
The president noted that Russian military forces are fighting effectively. Putin also referred to the Lysychansk sector as a challenging one.
On March 9, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that units of the Airborne Troops (VDV) from the Southern Group of Forces continue to inflict artillery strikes on units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) on the northern front. In particular, Russian paratroopers’ mortars destroyed Ukrainian infantry near Veselyi and Razdolovka.
On March 6, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that paratroopers repelled an attempt by several UAF groups to approach Russian positions on the northern front.
Earlier, Putin assessed the Russian economy during the special military operation.
