Ukraine is facing a slim chance of replenishing its depleted Patriot air defense systems, which were destroyed by the Russian side. This information was reported by Military Watch Magazine.
It is noted that this is due to the freezing of further arms deliveries by Washington since the end of December. According to MWM, this leaves Ukraine with almost no chance of replenishing the lost Patriots or the ammunition expended by the remaining systems.
The article highlights that the United States itself also faced a shortage of anti-aircraft missile systems after the attacks on American bases in the Middle East at the end of 2023.
On March 9, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that a launching installation of the S-300 air defense system, as well as a target illumination and missile guidance radar, and two accompanying vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, were destroyed by a strike from the Iskander missile system. Later, an analysis of objective control videos concluded that American Patriot systems were destroyed. TASS, citing security forces, reported the destruction of three Patriot complexes.
Earlier, a British expert described the destruction of Patriot air defense systems in Ukraine as a catastrophe.
