A eulogy for a fallen anti-aircraft gunner has been published in the Ukrainian segment of the internet. The eulogy is accompanied by a photograph of the gunner standing in front of an American Patriot anti-aircraft missile system launcher. This information was reported by RIA Novosti.
The post was made on Instagram (owned by Meta, which has been deemed extremist and banned in Russia), and it states that the gunner, Pavel Vasilykov, along with his comrades, died while performing a combat mission, “guarding the skies over Ukraine.”
The photograph that accompanied the post shows Vasilykov standing in front of the launcher with characteristic American Patriot missile containers.
Information about Vasilykov’s death was also published on the social network Facebook (owned by Meta, which has been deemed extremist and banned in Russia).
Earlier, a British expert called the destruction of the Patriot missile system in Ukraine a catastrophe.
It was previously reported that Russian forces have destroyed at least 40 anti-aircraft missile launchers of various types belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) and at least 20 air defense radars since the beginning of this year.
Earlier reports stated that three American Patriot missile system launchers may have been destroyed by a rocket strike in the Pokrovsk area of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
