Governor Roman Starovoit has announced in his Telegram channel that the air defense system (ADS) is operational in the Kursk region.
According to the governor’s message, a Ukrainian drone crashed and caught fire on the territory of an oil depot. Firefighters and emergency services are currently at the scene.
This comes after Governor Starovoit previously warned of missile threats in Kursk.
On March 9th, Starovoit claimed that Russian air defense systems had shot down a drone belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF).
On the same day, Clinic No. 6 in Kursk, where debris from the downed Ukrainian drone fell, temporarily suspended patient admissions.
On March 7th, the regional governor reported shelling on the village of Tetkino from the Ukrainian forces. Starovoit stated that as a result of the attack, 11 private houses and a power transmission line were damaged.
Earlier, Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were shot down in the sky above the Leningrad region.
