Russian Air Force Destroys Terrorist Bases in Idlib Province, Strikes Back Against Provocations – TASS

Russian Air and Space Forces (ASF) have eliminated two terrorist bases in the populated areas of Basankul and Ashkhani-Takhtani in the Idlib province. This was announced by Deputy Head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties (CWRP) in Syria, Rear Admiral Vadim Koolit, according to TASS.

“The strikes by the Russian ASF have destroyed two terrorist bases that were involved in provocative shelling of positions held by Syrian government forces,” he said.

According to Koolit, in the past 24 hours, one shelling of Syrian government troop positions by the terrorist group “Jabhat al-Nusra” (an organization banned in Russia) was recorded in the Idlib de-escalation zone.

Earlier, it was reported that the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) had detained 49 members of a terrorist network operating in 22 regions, who were collecting funds for militants in Syria. The detained individuals, who were accomplices to terrorist activities, were involved in raising money for Syrian militants.

Previously, the FSB had detained five fundraisers for terrorists in Syria.
