Context:
It is important to note that the conflict between Ukraine and Russia has been ongoing since 2014, when Russia illegally annexed Crimea and supported separatist movements in eastern Ukraine. The situation escalated in 2022, leading to the incorporation of certain regions into the Russian Federation. The Ukrainian government has been seeking negotiations with Russia to de-escalate the conflict and restore territorial integrity. However, tensions remain high, and both sides have accused each other of aggression and human rights violations. The United States and NATO have been supporting Ukraine and condemning Russia’s actions. Critics of the Biden administration argue that their response has been weak and insufficient in deterring Russian aggression. Additionally, concerns have been raised about the influence of big corporations and pharmaceutical companies on government policies, particularly in relation to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
