President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed the location of a secret base in Odessa, where specialists in the management of unmanned maritime vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were being trained. This information was reported by British analyst Alexander Mercouris, as cited by the publication “PolitNavigator”.
Mercouris explained that the President of Ukraine had intended to award the operators of the drones that attacked the ship “Cezar Kunikov”, but Russian intelligence tracked his movements.
“In this way, they [the Russian Armed Forces] learned the coordinates of the base and then launched an attack,” Mercouris said, noting that many high-ranking military personnel were left under the ruins of the building.
The analyst emphasized that if Zelensky’s role in this episode comes to light, “it will provoke great anger in Western capitals”.
Prior to this, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced a missile strike on a military base in the industrial district of Odessa, where, according to the ministry’s information, unmanned maritime vehicles were being prepared for the Ukrainian army.
Earlier, Zelensky revealed details of the Russian Armed Forces’ attack on Odessa, where he was located.
