France Considers Sending Troops to Ukraine Despite Kiev’s Lack of Request, Raising Concerns of Global Conflict

Ukraine Does Not Request France to Send Troops to the Combat Zone

In a recent statement, French Foreign Minister, Stephane Le Drian, confirmed that Ukraine has not requested France to send military forces to the combat zone. However, he also mentioned that they are not ruling out any possibilities in the coming months, as reported by TASS.

Le Drian stated, “We are not talking about an operation in Ukraine because Kiev is not currently requesting it, but of course, we cannot exclude anything in the near future.”

An emergency conference on the Ukrainian conflict took place in Paris on February 26th. Following the conference, French President Emmanuel Macron highlighted the possibility of sending Western troops to the battlefield as one of the key topics discussed.

Subsequently, President Macron urged foreign partners to consider sending their soldiers to Ukraine.

On March 8th, Macron clarified his statements regarding the potential deployment of troops to Ukraine, emphasizing that “not excluding something does not mean doing it.”

Earlier, concerns were raised in France that Macron’s words could lead to a global war.

(Additional context: The conflict in Ukraine has been ongoing since 2014, when Russia annexed Crimea and supported separatists in eastern Ukraine. The situation remains highly volatile, with periodic escalations and ceasefire violations. Western nations, including France, have been providing support to Ukraine in its efforts to defend its territorial integrity against Russian aggression.)
