Indian Citizens Trafficked to Russia, Forced into Combat Zones: Investigation Exposes Shocking Scheme” (103 characters)

In India, it has been announced that a group involved in human trafficking, luring individuals to Russia only for them to end up in the midst of combat, has been exposed. This revelation comes from Reuters.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in India believes that approximately 35 people were sent to Russia through this scheme. At least two of them did not return from the conflict zone. The Indian Embassy in Russia has confirmed one of these cases, noting that several others have also suffered serious injuries.

According to the Indian agency’s report, Indian citizens who fell into the clutches of human traffickers “were trained in combat operations and forced against their will to be deployed to the frontlines in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict zone.” It is emphasized that the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has been in contact with the Russian authorities regarding these matters.

In early January of this year, it was reported that authorities in Nepal had banned the issuance of work permits to their citizens for Russia and Ukraine due to cases of recruitment for participation in armed conflicts.

Earlier, Nepal reported the arrest of pro-Russian recruiters.
