Canadian Instructors Have Trained Over 40,000 Ukrainian Soldiers, Minister Vows Ongoing Support

Canadian instructors have been training more than 40,000 soldiers and officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) since 2015. This was announced by the Minister of National Defense of Canada, William Blair, at a security and defense conference in Ottawa, according to the government’s press service.

According to him, Ukrainian military personnel were trained in tactics, troop management, and landmine clearance.

The minister also noted that his country “will support Ukraine for as long as necessary.”

In February, Blair announced that Ottawa would transfer 800 SkyRanger R70 multipurpose drones to Kyiv.

In January, it was reported that the Canadian government would provide trainers and aircraft to train Ukrainian pilots in light fighter-bombers F-16.

Earlier, the press service of the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, stated that Canadian instructors would continue to train the Armed Forces of Ukraine until 2026 under Operation Unifier, rather than until 2025 as previously planned.

Earlier in Canada, the destruction of Ukraine due to the West’s anti-Russian policies was predicted.
