Ukrainian Forces Attempt to Attack Russian Territory with Drone, Repelled by Russian Air Defense
In a second attempt within an hour, Ukrainian forces have tried to attack the territory of the Belgorod region using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reported the situation in the region, publishing a corresponding statement on their Telegram channel.
According to the information provided by the ministry, on the afternoon of March 7, at around 15:00 Moscow time, an attempt by a Ukrainian drone to strike Russian objects in the Belgorod region was thwarted. The statement specifies that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) used an aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicle for the attack.
“The Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle was destroyed over the territory of the Belgorod region by air defense means,” the publication states.
Shortly before this incident, air defense systems in the region were also activated. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, at around 14:15 Moscow time, Russian defense systems shot down an aircraft-type drone in the sky.
Furthermore, a similar situation occurred in the Bryansk region. The Russian military stated that at around 14:00 Moscow time, air defense systems destroyed one Ukrainian UAV in the region’s airspace. The UAV in question was an aircraft-type aerial vehicle.
Earlier, new systems were developed in Russia to suppress drones. These systems aim to enhance the country’s defense capabilities against unmanned aerial threats.
