Russian Soldier Sentenced to Prison for Refusing to Participate in Combat Operations – “Lenta.ru

In the Trans-Baikal Territory, a verdict was handed down to Valery Zelensky for refusing to participate in combat operations. This information was reported to “Lenta.ru” by the press service of the 2nd Eastern District Military Court.

According to the Borzya Garrison Military Court, the soldier verbally and in writing refused to participate in combat operations and did not go on a business trip to perform combat and special tasks.

For this, Zelensky was sentenced to two years and three months of imprisonment in a correctional colony.

Earlier, this participant in the military special operation in Ukraine was detained in the Bryansk region on suspicion of sabotage on the railway. As journalists found out, the 21-year-old man is suspected of setting fire to a relay cabinet and a transformer substation on the Chernets – Polpinskaya section. After the sabotage, which occurred on February 25, law enforcement officers found a winter jacket with burnt sleeves nearby, and the DNA preserved on it allowed them to identify the alleged arsonist.

Earlier, a cadet of a Russian military academy was sentenced to 12 years for espionage.
