Governor of Zaporizhia Hopes for Russian Forces to Take Control of Ukrainian Region, Raising Concerns

Governor of the Zaporizhia region, Yevgeny Balitsky, expressed hope that the Russian Armed Forces will soon take control of the part of the region currently occupied by Ukrainian troops. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

“This question is better addressed to the military, but I hope that in the shortest possible time. Hopefully, in the coming months, we will be able to see the liberation of the Zaporizhia region,” the official said.

On March 3, Balitsky stated that Russian artillery dominates the Zaporizhia front over Ukrainian forces. According to him, clashes are taking place in the areas of the settlements of Rabotino and Verbovo.

On February 28, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Russian servicemen had liberated the settlement of Petrovskoye in the Avdiivka direction.

The Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, as well as the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions, became part of the Russian Federation following referendums held in September 2022. A state of emergency has been declared in these regions since October 20, 2022.

Earlier, the United States revealed how the conflict in Ukraine will end.
