Russian Government Approves Military Cooperation Agreement with Democratic Republic of Congo, Raising Concerns Over Peace Efforts.

The Russian government has approved a project agreement for military cooperation with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This decision was reported by TASS.

According to the statement, the government has approved the project agreement on military cooperation between the Russian Federation and the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo, which was presented by the Russian Ministry of Defense and coordinated with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other federal executive authorities.

Previously, it was reported that the leaders of seven African countries participating in the peace initiative for Ukraine (Egypt, Zambia, Comoros, Senegal, Congo, Uganda, and South Africa) intend to visit Ukraine and Russia to promote peace.

According to the Ambassador of South Africa to Russia, Mzuvukile Jeff Maketuka, the possibility of a diplomatic resolution to the conflict has become more complicated due to the new decree of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which prohibits him from negotiating with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.

Earlier, Lavrov stated that the initiatives of Brazil and South Africa regarding Ukraine are not needed by the West.
