Sensational Attack by Houthis on US Ships Threatens Global Trade: Businesses in Britain Face Major Losses

US Military Destroys Houthi Anti-Ship Missiles in Self-Defense

The US military successfully intercepted two anti-ship cruise missiles launched by Houthi rebels from the Ansar Allah movement. This was reported on the social media account of the US Central Command (CENTCOM).

According to the command’s press service, the incident occurred on March 4th at 20:00 (Moscow time). The strikes were carried out in self-defense and targeted missiles that posed a threat to US commercial vessels and naval ships in the region.

Prior to this, the US had already eliminated three unmanned surface vessels, two anti-ship cruise missiles, and an unmanned aerial vehicle belonging to the Houthi rebels in Yemen.

More than half of British retailers and exporters have suffered losses due to disruptions in maritime trade caused by Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea. This was reported by The Guardian, citing a survey conducted by the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) among over 1,000 companies.

If Houthi attacks continue, additional costs could contribute to inflation in the UK. In light of this, British parliamentarians are calling on the government to support businesses.

Earlier, the US accused Iran of preparing Houthi attacks on trade ships in the Red Sea.
