Russian Units Secure Street in Avdiivka During Operation, US Admits Failed Counteroffensive
Russian military units were able to secure a street during the capture of Avdiivka thanks to the actions of two military groups, according to a report from TASS, citing a military source with the call sign “Tor”.
The military source stated that one group traveled over 3 km through a gas pipeline into enemy territory, while the other group diverted attention by executing a deceptive maneuver.
“In order for that group to occupy Third Street, we had to draw fire onto ourselves. We had to drive with two tanks and a combat infantry vehicle through ‘Tsarskaya Okhota’ – we were attacked by artillery there, they noticed us and gave people the opportunity to move to Third Street and secure it,” Tor shared.
He added that as a result of the maneuver, the Ukrainian military was successfully distracted.
Prior to this, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov revealed that Russian forces quickly liberated Avdiivka after a prolonged period of preparation.
Earlier in the US, the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counteroffensive was acknowledged.
