Utah parenting blogger Ruby Franke and her partner Jodi Hildebrant have been sentenced to serve consecutive prison terms for their heinous crimes of child abuse. Franke, who ran the popular YouTube channel “8 Passengers,” pleaded guilty to four counts of aggravated child abuse, while Hildebrant pleaded guilty to the same charges.
During her sentencing hearing, Franke tearfully admitted to following a path of dark delusion, isolating herself from anyone who questioned her distorted version of reality. She blamed her misguided beliefs on a world filled with evil, including corrupt institutions such as law enforcement, hospitals, government agencies, and even church leaders. It is deeply disturbing to think that someone entrusted with parenting advice could harbor such twisted views.

The charges against Franke and Hildebrant stemmed from an incident where two of Franke’s malnourished and neglected children were rescued from Hildebrant’s home. The abuse included forcing the children to do physical labor, restricting their access to food, and inflicting emotional harm. One of the children managed to escape and seek help from a neighbor, who promptly reported the abuse to the authorities.
This case serves as a stark reminder that evil can lurk in unexpected places. Franke and Hildebrant presented themselves as parenting experts, offering advice on raising children in “truth.” However, their true intentions were far from noble, as they subjected these innocent children to unimaginable suffering.
