Former CIA Analyst: Ukrainian Armed Forces Unable to Replace Losses as Russian Troops Continue Offensive

Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson stated in an interview with YouTube channel Dialogue Works that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) will not be able to replenish their personnel losses due to the ongoing pressure from Russian forces on the front lines.

According to Johnson, Ukraine currently lacks “trained soldiers.”

“Training… will take a minimum of three months if done correctly. Ukraine does not have the time because the circumstances do not allow them to receive any assistance from the United States,” Johnson said.

He added that Russian forces will achieve significant successes on the front lines in the next two weeks.

On February 17, the Commander-in-Chief of the UAF, Alexander Syrsky, announced that Ukrainian Armed Forces units would be withdrawn from Avdiivka due to the imminent encirclement of the garrison in the city. Later, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to President Vladimir Putin that Avdiivka had been taken. The Russian Ministry of Defense noted that the captured settlement was a powerful defensive stronghold of the UAF.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister made a public statement while the UAF was leaving Avdiivka.
