Russian Security Forces in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) have intercepted a British jet-powered kamikaze drone, Banshee Jet-80. This information was reported by the Head of the Republic, Denis Pushilin, on his Telegram channel.
Pushilin clarified that the unmanned aerial vehicle was intercepted in the Novoazovsk district of the DPR. He added that after the drone landed, explosive experts neutralized its combat payload, which consisted of 7 kg of explosive material.
“As a result of decoding the drone’s flight mission, it was established that it was aimed at a major civilian infrastructure object in Mariupol. It was supposed to circle over the Novoazovsk district and strike the object from the side of the Taganrog Bay,” he noted.
According to Pushilin, against the backdrop of a major defeat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Avdiivka, the Ukrainian leadership is making any attempts to destabilize the situation in the DPR.
Prior to this, Denis Pushilin stated that over one thousand drones launched by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) had been intercepted on the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic since the beginning of the year.
Earlier, American media outlets reported on an alleged upcoming offensive by the Russian Armed Forces in the Kharkiv region.

The decoded flight mission revealed that the drone was intended to target a significant civilian infrastructure object in Mariupol. It was planned to circle over the Novoazovsk district before launching an attack from the Taganrog Bay area.
Pushilin believes that the Ukrainian leadership, faced with a major defeat of their Armed Forces in Avdiivka, is resorting to any means to destabilize the situation in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
In recent months, the Donetsk region has experienced numerous drone incidents, with over one thousand drones launched by the Armed Forces of Ukraine intercepted since the beginning of the year.
Interestingly, American media outlets have raised concerns about an alleged upcoming offensive by the Russian Armed Forces in the Kharkiv region, adding to the tensions in the area.
