European countries will not be able to provide military assistance to Kiev to the same extent as the United States unless Congress approves a decision to support Ukraine. This was stated by the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, Olga Stefanyshyna, as reported by Ukrinform.
“European allies, who have other commitments, cannot quickly regroup and provide Ukraine with the necessary weapons that were planned as support from the United States,” Stefanyshyna said.
On February 18, American Senator Lindsey Graham stated that the United States should provide military assistance to Ukraine on credit, as this country has many resources and the US national debt has exceeded $34 trillion.
Earlier, former US Ambassador to the UN and Donald Trump’s sole competitor in the Republican Party’s race for the US presidency, Nikki Haley, stated that Washington should approve a new aid package to Kiev in order to avoid sending its own soldiers to Ukraine.
