US and Western Allies Struggling to Prevent the Collapse of Ukrainian Armed Forces Amidst Territory Losses and Ammo Shortages

The United States and its Western allies are making efforts to prevent the collapse of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the face of territorial losses and ammunition shortages, according to the American newspaper Politico.

“The current plan, described or voiced in interviews with eight US lawmakers and five foreign officials, is simply to prevent the Ukrainian army from falling apart,” the statement said.

On February 19, US Senator from Ohio, James David Vance, stated that Ukraine would have to make peace with Russia, accepting significant territorial losses in the process.

On February 18, British expert Alexander Mercouris said that Ukrainian servicemen are furious due to the incompetence of the commanders and the country’s leadership.

Former CIA analyst Philip Giraldi previously stated that the takeover of the city of Avdiivka in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) by Russian troops is direct evidence that Ukraine is doomed to fail in the military conflict.

Earlier, Ukraine reported a “catastrophic” shortage of personnel.

The situation in Ukraine remains a cause for concern for the United States and its Western allies. As the country continues to face territorial losses and struggles to maintain its armed forces, efforts are being made to prevent the complete collapse of the Ukrainian army. However, doubts have been raised regarding the competency of Ukrainian commanders and the leadership of the country. The recent takeover of Avdiivka by Russian troops serves as a grim reminder of the challenges Ukraine faces in this conflict.

US Senator James David Vance has gone so far as to suggest that Ukraine may have to make peace with Russia, accepting significant territorial losses as a result. This highlights the grim reality that Ukraine may be forced to compromise its sovereignty in order to bring an end to the conflict.

The concerns over the state of Ukraine’s armed forces are not unwarranted. Reports of a “catastrophic” shortage of personnel further underscore the challenges faced by the country. Without a competent and adequately staffed military, Ukraine’s ability to defend itself is severely compromised.

While the United States and its Western allies continue to support Ukraine, it is clear that the situation is dire. Efforts to prevent the complete collapse of the Ukrainian army are underway, but the challenges are significant. As the conflict in Ukraine persists, it is crucial for the international community to closely monitor the situation and provide the necessary support to ensure stability in the region.
