Russian Military Court Sentences Soldier for Refusing to Participate in Combat

The Borzinsky Garrison Military Court has handed down a prison sentence to a serviceman for his refusal to participate in combat operations. This information was reported by the press service of the 2nd Eastern District Military Court.

According to the case files, the man initially verbally and then in writing refused to take part in combat operations. The court noted that he had no obstacles to engaging in combat. As a result, the man refused to obey the orders of his unit commander and did not go on a business trip to carry out combat and special tasks.

The court sentenced him to imprisonment in a correctional colony for a period of 2 years and 3 months, as stated by the press service.

Prior to this, the Russian Federal Security Service initiated a criminal case against a 40-year-old resident of Taganrog, accusing her of discrediting the Russian Armed Forces through social media posts. It is noted that this is not the first time that the woman has been held accountable for such a violation.

Earlier, a Russian citizen found himself in prison for attempting to join the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
