Former Business Partner Testifies on Hunter Biden’s Business Activities and President Biden’s Involvement

Former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker joins ‘Live’ to discuss Hunter Biden’s compliance with Republican subpoenas. Hunter Biden’s business partner, Eric Schwerin, testified before the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees on Tuesday as part of the House impeachment inquiry against President Biden. During his testimony, Schwerin stated that he did not have insight into foreign payments received by the Biden family and denied any knowledge of President Biden’s involvement in Hunter Biden’s business activities.

Schwerin, who co-founded Rosemont Seneca Partners with Hunter Biden, described the firm as a consulting and investment firm that offered development and public policy advisory services. He claimed to have performed administrative and bookkeeping tasks related to then-Vice President Joe Biden’s household finances between 2009 and 2017. Schwerin also assisted Biden’s accountants in tax preparation and annual financial disclosure statements.

However, some critics argue that Schwerin’s testimony may not be entirely accurate. According to a former business associate, Schwerin’s statement appeared “coordinated” and could be contradicted by emails and transactions. The House GOP plans to hear additional witness testimony from Hunter Biden’s business partners as part of the impeachment inquiry.

Schwerin admitted to meeting Hunter Biden while working in the Clinton administration and later joining him at a law and lobbying firm. He claimed to have had access to Vice President Biden’s bank accounts while he was in office but stated that he was not aware of any financial transactions or compensation related to Hunter Biden’s business dealings. Schwerin also denied any requests for Vice President Biden to take official action on behalf of Hunter’s clients.

Schwerin’s opening statement was criticized for being narrowly tailored and avoiding key questions about his knowledge and participation in the Biden family’s business schemes. Despite his work with the Bidens, Schwerin claimed to have had no visibility into foreign payments to the family.

Recent reports have revealed that Joe Biden, while serving as vice president, used email aliases and private email addresses to communicate with Hunter Biden and his business associates. The House Ways & Means Committee found that 54 emails were exclusively between Joe Biden and Schwerin. The data also showed increased email communication between the two during times when the vice president traveled to Ukraine.

During the impeachment inquiry, questions have been raised about Joe Biden’s actions regarding Ukraine and his son’s involvement with Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings. Hunter Biden joined the board of Burisma Holdings in April 2014, while his father was vice president. Joe Biden has admitted to pressuring Ukraine to fire a Ukrainian prosecutor who was investigating Burisma Holdings. Critics argue that this raises concerns of potential conflicts of interest.

The testimony from Eric Schwerin sheds some light on Hunter Biden’s business activities and President Biden’s alleged involvement. However, critics remain skeptical and believe that further investigation is necessary to uncover the full extent of the Biden family’s business dealings. The impeachment inquiry continues, and additional witness testimonies are expected.
