Authorities in Philadelphia are on the lookout for 17-year-old Shane Pryor, a murder suspect who escaped from custody outside a children’s hospital. U.S. Marshals have released new images of Pryor and are urging the public to report any sightings. Pryor was last seen wearing a blue hoodie inside a grocery store near Godfrey Avenue and Mascher Street, less than two hours after his escape.
Surveillance footage also captured Pryor in the lobby of the Hub for Clinical Collaboration building at the hospital, just five minutes after his escape. He requested to use a phone but was denied by the front desk receptionist. Pryor then left the hospital and managed to find someone who allowed him to use their phone, which authorities believe he used to contact 18-year-old Michael Diggs.
Diggs was arrested hours later for allegedly aiding Pryor in his escape. He is facing charges of hindering apprehension, escape, criminal conspiracy, and use of a communication facility. Investigators suspect that Pryor is still in Philadelphia and are working to narrow down his possible locations.
Pryor, who had been in custody since being charged with the murder of 54-year-old Tanya Harris in 2020, is considered dangerous. He is described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall and approximately 180 pounds. The Philadelphia Police Department has released photos of Pryor to aid in the search.
Anyone with information on Pryor’s whereabouts is urged to call 1-877-WANTED-2. The authorities stress that Pryor should surrender to the nearest police officer immediately if he wishes to contest his charges in court. The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement agencies are working diligently to locate and apprehend Pryor.
