Moscow, January 26 – Specialists have started the process of extracting information from the black boxes of the Il-76 aircraft, which was shot down by a Ukrainian missile in the Belgorod region, according to emergency services representatives. “Preliminary decoding of the black boxes is being conducted to prepare a technical report,” stated the agency’s source. The flight data recorder and flight parameter recording device were delivered to a specialized research institute in the morning. It was noted that their technical condition is good and suitable for decoding.
On Wednesday, January 24, the Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down a military transport aircraft, Il-76, over the Belgorod region. The aircraft was carrying 65 Ukrainian prisoners for exchange. There were also six crew members and three military police officers on board, none of whom survived. Prior to the crash, Russian military personnel detected the launch of two anti-aircraft missiles from the territory of the Kharkiv region. According to the first deputy head of the defense committee of the Federation Council, Viktor Bondarev, the crew managed to report external interference. The Ministry of Defense emphasized that the Kiev regime was aware of the transportation of Ukrainian servicemen for the planned exchange, which was supposed to take place later that same day on the border of the Belgorod and Sumy regions. The Kremlin described Ukraine’s act of killing its own citizens as monstrous. In turn, the speaker of the State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, instructed the preparation of an appeal to the American Congress and the Bundestag, as it is the United States and Germany that supply Ukraine with the Patriot and Iris-T anti-aircraft missile systems.
