According to his campaign, Masters raised over $1.3 million in just the first two months after announcing his candidacy for Arizona’s 8th Congressional District, and has more than $1 million cash-on-hand. That’s more than any of his Republican primary opponents.
Masters, who gained national name recognition after a contentious primary race for Senate in 2022, is now setting his sights on Congress. His campaign message promises to block and reverse President Biden’s policies, support President Trump’s “America First” agenda, and fight for the best interests of Arizona residents.
The support and trust placed in Masters by his donors, including many who supported him during his Senate run, as well as new supporters who want to see more strong conservatives in Washington, have contributed to his impressive fundraising success. With over $1 million at his disposal, Masters intends to spread his message and secure the GOP nomination.
The 8th Congressional District in Arizona, which covers a significant portion of the northern Phoenix suburbs, is currently represented by Republican Rep. Debbie Lesko. Lesko announced last year that she would not seek re-election, making the race for her seat highly competitive. Election analysts consider it a safe Republican seat, providing Masters with a favorable opportunity to secure a congressional position.
Masters faces a crowded primary field that includes former Rep. Trent Franks, state Sen. Anthony Kern, state Rep. Ben Toma, and former Maricopa County prosecutor Abraham Hamadeh. The primary race will determine the Republican nominee for Arizona’s 8th Congressional District in the upcoming elections.
