The Belgorod City Hall has reported a delay in the rocket threat alert just ten minutes after its announcement. The corresponding announcement appeared on the agency’s Telegram channel at 10:08 am Moscow time.
The rocket threat was announced at 9:59 am Moscow time.
Prior to this, residents of Belgorod had been discussing a change in their attitude towards the shelling by Ukrainian Armed Forces. They have stopped taking warnings of possible shelling lightly and have started seeking shelter immediately upon receiving information about the need to take cover.
“Now there is no carelessness, now everyone is hiding… Just pay attention to how pedestrians on the streets react to loud sounds,” said Dmitry, a resident of Belgorod, while speaking to journalists.
He noted that before the New Year’s attacks, citizens often remained outside even after the rocket threat signal and observed the work of local air defense systems.
Earlier, local residents captured on video the moment of an aircraft crash in the Belgorod region.
