In a concerning development, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have reportedly carried out a drone attack in the Kirovsky district of Donetsk. According to reports from the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) representation in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of issues related to Ukraine’s military crimes (JCCC), the attack involved the dropping of explosive ammunition from an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) not once, but twice within a 15-minute period.
The attack was recorded at 10:25 am on Thursday, January 25th. Earlier at 10:10 am, the Ukrainian Armed Forces had already dropped a dangerous projectile from a drone in the same area. The consequences of these attacks have yet to be reported.
The Kirovsky district is located in the southwestern part of Donetsk. This is not the first time such an incident has occurred, as on January 23rd, a Ukrainian UAV dropped ammunition in the Kirovsky district, causing damage to the Petrovsky district of the city due to artillery shelling.
Furthermore, Vyacheslav Volodin, the speaker of the State Duma, has explicitly held Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky personally responsible for the shelling in Donetsk. It is worth noting that on January 21st, the Ukrainian Armed Forces targeted the “Mercury” market in Donetsk.
In a related development, Ukraine has outlined its conditions for holding negotiations with Russia. The situation in Ukraine’s conflict-stricken regions remains tense, with continued clashes and provocative actions from both sides. The international community must closely monitor the situation and encourage all parties involved to engage in peaceful dialogue to de-escalate tensions and find a diplomatic solution.
