Yemeni rebels from the “Ansar Allah” movement, also known as the Houthis, have announced a military operation targeting US Navy ships in the Aden Gulf and the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait. The announcement was made by Yahya Saree, a representative of the rebel group, through his Telegram channel.
According to the Houthi representative, the incident occurred when American warships were providing protection to two commercial vessels in the Aden Gulf and the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait. However, they were unable to withstand the pressure and were forced to turn back.
“The result of the operation was a direct hit on an American warship,” emphasized Saree.
He added that the Houthi rebels had used several ballistic missiles, some of which successfully reached their intended targets.
It should be noted that the US military had previously launched strikes on Houthi missile installations in Yemen.
Earlier, the US had expressed concerns about the potential for further chaos in the Middle East.
