Cameron will also urge Israel to open more crossing points to facilitate the delivery of aid, including the Israeli port at Ashdod and the Karem Abu Salem crossing. He will demand the restoration of water, fuel, and electricity supplies to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The conflict, which began after Hamas attacks on Israel in October, has resulted in a staggering death toll of at least 25,700 Palestinians, primarily women and children. The majority of Gaza’s population of 2.3 million people are now displaced.
