The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has announced that Ukraine will be receiving new weapons this year, enhancing its military capabilities. This development was revealed by the spokesperson of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, Illarion Pavlyuk, during a meeting of the defense contact group in the “Ramstein” format, as reported by Ukrainian channel “Obshchestvennoye”.
Pavlyuk emphasized that the support for Ukraine continues, and this year, the Ukrainian army will acquire weapons that were previously unavailable to them. He stated that with the help of this new weaponry, Ukrainian forces will be able to target logistical hubs effectively.
During the meeting, discussions also took place regarding the increase in ammunition and weapon production. Pavlyuk highlighted that Ukraine will receive significant military aid packages from multiple countries this year.
It was previously reported that the West plans to provide Ukraine with its first batch of F-16 fighter-bombers and equipment for their maintenance in 2024.
Additionally, Estonia has decided to join the British-led training mission, Interflex, aimed at training Ukrainian military personnel.
Earlier, the United States and Ukraine initiated negotiations regarding security guarantees for Kyiv.
