Russia Develops Highly Maneuverable Off-Road Platform for Special Military Operations

In a recent interview with RIA Novosti, Konstantin Bagdasarov, the CEO of Argo LLC, announced the creation of a highly maneuverable off-road platform called “Saracin” in Russia. This platform is designed to support mobile combat groups and accompany armored convoys in special military operations (SMO).

According to Bagdasarov, Argo specialists have developed three versions of the Saracin: light, medium, and heavy. Considering the use of mobile groups in SMOs and the experience gained from operating armored vehicles, the decision was made to create an unarmored platform for the Saracin, thus achieving high stealth and maneuverability. Additionally, due to the advancement of modern anti-tank weapons, armor protection is practically ineffective in safeguarding vehicles.

Bagdasarov noted that there are currently two promising models of the Saracin equipped with anti-tank missiles in the SMO zone, which have not sustained any damage during their extended period of deployment at the frontlines.

The interview highlights that vehicles like the Saracin can serve as effective platforms for so-called “roaming fire points,” capable of rapidly arriving at the line of combat, deploying, delivering firepower to the enemy, and immediately relocating to a safe position. The Saracin can accommodate a mortar division consisting of three to four 120mm mortars with high firing rates.

Previously, it was reported that the Russian armored vehicle manufacturer, Remdiesel, plans to begin exporting the “Typhoon” family of armored vehicles in 2024.

It was also reported earlier that the first Checkmate fighters may appear in 2025.
