German Security Conference Urges Delivery of Taurus Missiles to Ukraine for Negotiations with Russia

In an interview with Handelsblatt newspaper, Christoph Hoysgen, the head of the Munich Security Conference, called on Germany to send long-range Taurus missiles to Kiev. The purpose of this move would be to enable the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) to attack the Crimean Bridge and push Russia towards negotiations.

Hoysgen believes that there is no justification for any distrust towards Ukraine when it comes to the supply of Taurus missiles.

He emphasized that he does not understand German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s hesitations regarding these deliveries.

“The Ukraine has received a lot of weapons that it could use against military targets in Russia,” stated the head of the Munich Conference.

He also stated that the use of Taurus missiles by the UAF in a hypothetical attack on the Crimean Bridge could help Russia’s leadership “rethink the situation” and move closer to peaceful negotiations.

On the other hand, Johannes Arlt, an expert from the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SDPG), previously stated that supplying Ukraine with Taurus missiles would prevent Germany from quickly replenishing its stocks, thereby compromising the country’s defense capabilities.

Earlier, the Federation Council warned Germany about the consequences of delivering Taurus missiles to Kiev.
