French Mercenary Clears Up Misinformation Surrounding His Alleged Death in Ukraine

In a recent development, French mercenary Alexis Drio has deleted posts from his account that claimed he had been eliminated in a strike on Kharkiv, following the publication of a message by Russian authorities suggesting his demise. This news has been reported by RIA Novosti.

Prior to this, Drio had allegedly reached out to confirm his well-being.

“I am alive, I am alive, everything is fine! Russian disinformation!” wrote the man, attaching a screenshot of a news article about the release of a list of mercenaries’ names.

Later, he clarified that he is currently in France, though he did not provide any photographic or video evidence to support his claim.

On January 23, the mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, reported a series of explosions in the Ukrainian capital. According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, the city’s air defense system had been activated.

On the same day, an air alarm was declared across Ukraine.

There were also reports of explosions in Kharkiv twice within 24 hours.

Since October 10, 2022, just two days after the attack on the Crimean Bridge, the Russian Armed Forces have been striking Ukrainian infrastructure. Since then, air alarms have been declared daily in various regions of Ukraine, sometimes even across the entire country. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that the attacks target objects in the energy sector, defense industry, military command, and communication throughout the country.

Previously, the aim of the nighttime strikes on Kharkiv had been revealed.
