Man’s Body Found Stuffed in Chimney of Georgia Rental House

The body of a man who had been missing for several weeks has been discovered inside the chimney of a rental house in Georgia. Anthony Rumplik, 43, was found wrapped in a blanket and stuffed in the chimney of a house in Macon, according to Bibb County sheriff’s deputies. Rumplik’s roommate noticed a ladder against the house and upon investigation, found the body. The condition of the body suggests that Rumplik had been deceased for some time, according to the Bibb County Coroner.

Rumplik, originally from Ohio, had recently visited Macon, where his motorcycle had broken down during a trip to Florida. His family had traveled to Macon to search for him after he went missing. His sister, Marlo Rumplik, stated that she had last heard from him on December 28. Rumplik had a history of homelessness and hospitalization, suffering from schizophrenia and kidney failure.

The landlord of Rumplik’s rental house reported him missing after finding the door open, deeming it suspicious. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation will be conducting an autopsy, and local deputies continue to investigate the case. Marlo Rumplik had previously criticized the sheriff’s department for not doing enough to search for her brother, claiming they treated him as “just another drug addict.”

This incident highlights the tragic circumstances surrounding the discovery of Anthony Rumplik’s body, shedding light on the issues of homelessness, mental health, and the need for improved support systems. The ongoing investigation aims to uncover the details surrounding his death and provide closure to his grieving family.
