According to Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, the target of the strike was “Iranian terrorists on Pakistani territory.”
In response, Pakistan retaliated on January 18 by launching strikes on “anti-Pakistani groups” within Iranian territory. The situation remains tense, with Pakistan warning Iran of a severe response if further attacks occur.
