American Special Forces Soldiers Found Dead in Somali Waters

The bodies of two US Navy SEALs, who fell into the water off the coast of Somalia, have been discovered by American military personnel. The announcement was made by the US Central Command (CENTCOM), as reported by RIA Novosti.

According to the agency, the incident occurred on January 11 in the Gulf of Aden. The Navy SEALs were attempting to board a vessel believed to be transporting Iranian weapons. However, during the operation, the American soldiers went missing.

“We regret to announce that after ten days of exhaustive search, two of our missing soldiers from the US Navy SEALs have been found, and their status has been changed to ‘deceased'”, stated CENTCOM.

The search and rescue operation has officially concluded. However, at present, the US military is still attempting to recover the bodies of their comrades from the water, as stated in the announcement.

On January 18, Houthi rebels from the Yemeni movement “Ansar Allah” launched a missile strike on the American tanker, Chem Ranger, in the Gulf of Aden. According to CENTCOM, the rebels attacked the vessel with two anti-ship ballistic missiles. The announcement mentioned that the projectiles fell into the water near the ship.

Previously, the US and the UK expressed their intention to intensify the military campaign against the Houthi rebels.
