US Navy Aircraft Spotted Near Crimea During Ukrainian Missile Strike

In a recent development, a US Navy aircraft was reportedly present in the skies near the western coast of Crimea during a missile strike by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This information was shared by the Flightradar24 portal, according to a report by TASS.

According to the portal’s data, an unidentified US Navy aircraft was observed approximately 250 kilometers off the western coast of the Crimean peninsula, in the airspace near the Romania-Ukraine border. It was during this time that the Russian Ministry of Defense detected the launch of two Ukrainian missiles, which were subsequently intercepted over the Black Sea.

The portal highlights that the aircraft’s flight path was initially tracked in the vicinity of Sicily, near the United States Naval Air Station Sigonella.

Around 10-15 minutes after the Russian Ministry of Defense reported the interception of the Ukrainian missiles, the US Navy aircraft changed its course and headed southwest, following a similar route to the one it had taken from Sicily to the Black Sea.

Prior to this incident, the Russian Ministry of Defense had announced that their air defense systems had successfully taken down two guided aviation missiles over the Black Sea. According to the ministry, the Ukrainian Armed Forces had attempted to attack the peninsula at around 14:00 Moscow Time.

Earlier, the head of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldov, stated that two missiles targeted at Crimea had been intercepted in the region.
