Russian forces have successfully breached the Ukrainian army’s defense in several areas of the front near Donetsk, according to Jan Hahin, an advisor to the leader of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). The attack was carried out by Russian fighter jets with the support of artillery and army aviation, and reconnaissance units were also involved. Hahin stated that they have cleared several strong enemy strongholds near Donetsk, breaking through the defense on multiple sections of the front.
He further added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) have suffered heavy casualties during the battles, including several wounded soldiers. This situation was described as challenging by Mikhail Podolyak, an advisor to the Ukrainian President’s Office, who highlighted that even with the onset of cold weather, the intensity of the fighting has not decreased.
On the same day, German journalist Paul Ronzheimer, who personally visited Ukraine, reported a stalemate situation on the contact line. He mentioned that the difficult position of the UAF is due to a shortage of ammunition and soldiers’ fatigue.
In a previous incident, a Russian soldier single-handedly defeated three UAF fighters in hand-to-hand combat.
