Russian Armed Forces Threaten to Destroy Military Industry Objects in Ukraine

In a recent column for InfoBRICS, journalist Lucas Leiros warned that the Russian Armed Forces would commence the destruction of military industry objects throughout Ukraine if Crimea were to face new attacks from Kiev. Leiros stated that Moscow’s response to strikes on the peninsula would not result in a drastic change in the situation on the battlefield. Instead, Russian forces are more likely to increase the number of air strikes on strategic targets in Ukraine.

Leiros highlighted that Russia’s military doctrine designates artillery as the primary force in combat operations. In response to Ukraine’s attempts to escalate hostilities, Russian forces neutralize military objects, critical infrastructure, and enemy decision-making centers using heavy artillery. He further added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) find themselves in a deadlock and suffer increasing losses with each encounter. Currently, Kiev is unable to alter the situation on the battlefield, and the only alternative appears to be peaceful negotiations on Moscow’s terms. However, NATO countries prevent the Ukrainian leadership from taking such a step, concluded Leiros.

On January 18th, former Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in Europe, General Philip Bridlav, advocated for further strikes on Crimea. He believed that Western countries should assist Ukraine in this endeavor and thereby compel Russian authorities to reconsider their position in the region.

In response to Bridlav’s statement regarding attacks on Crimea, the Russian State Duma issued a statement.
