Toole died in prison in 1996.
Driven by his love for his late son, Walsh channeled his pain into purpose. He played a vital role in the establishment of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, an organization dedicated to preventing child abductions and combating child sexual exploitation. The nonprofit has been instrumental in the recovery of over 450,000 missing children to date. Walsh’s son, Callahan, now serves as the executive director of the organization’s Florida branch.
